The Emerging Scholars Leadership Institute (ESLI) at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) prepares first-generation students to become ethical, innovative, and career-ready leaders. Through mentorship, experiential learning, and professional development, ESLI equips students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s workforce.
A signature experience of the program is the Unity Summit, an annual event that connects students with executives and industry leaders from organizations such as Netflix, Walmart, and Procter & Gamble. These interactions provide real-world insight, networking opportunities, and exposure to leadership at the highest levels.
ESLI takes a holistic approach to leadership development, emphasizing self-awareness, financial literacy, executive presence, critical thinking, and community engagement. The program is committed to building a strong pipeline of talent for the Delta region and beyond, with support from partners including the Walton Family Foundation.
