Welcome from the Dean of Student Life
Campus life at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), is a vibrant and culturally enriching experience. Here’s an overview highlighting cultural connectivity, Greek organizations, and various organizations aimed at helping our students network, socialize, and expand their career opportunities:
Cultural Connectivity
At UAPB, cultural connectivity is at the heart of campus life. The university celebrates its rich heritage and traditions through numerous events and activities that foster a sense of community and pride among students. Events like Homecoming, Founder’s Day, and Black History Month celebrations offer opportunities for students to connect with their cultural roots and share in the collective history of the African American community. The campus also hosts cultural fairs, guest lectures, and performances that highlight the diversity and accomplishments of Black culture, promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation among all students.
Greek Organizations
Greek life at UAPB is a cornerstone of the campus community. The university hosts chapters of the Divine Nine, historically Black fraternities and sororities that play a significant role in student life. These organizations provide a supportive network for students, fostering leadership, academic excellence, and community service. Membership in a fraternity or sorority offers students lifelong connections and a sense of belonging, as well as opportunities for personal development and community engagement. Greek organizations also host events, social gatherings, and philanthropic activities, contributing to a vibrant and cohesive campus culture.
Clubs and Organizations for Networking, Socializing, and Career Growth
UAPB offers a wide array of clubs and organizations that cater to diverse interests and career aspirations, providing ample opportunities for networking, socializing, and professional development. Explore these opportunities below.
Social clubs and interest groups, such as the Student Government Association (SGA), the Campus Activities Board (CAB), and various hobby clubs (e.g., dance, music, and arts), offer students opportunities to meet new people, develop friendships, and engage in recreational activities.
