Certificates of Proficiency Programs - University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff

Several certificate programs are available at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB).

Each program offers 12 credit hours with the exception of the Certificate of Proficiency in Food Production & Safety, which offers 16 credit hours.

“Students are definitely encouraged to enroll in any of them,” says Dr. Venetia A. Miller, UAPB’s Director of Innovative Programming. “There is a form (Undergraduate Change of Certificate Program Form) that must be filled out for students who want to add a certificate program to their curriculum. They can contact me for that.”

Other new certificate programs include:

Graduate Certificate in Computer Science (12 credit hours)
Technical Certificate in Data Science (21 credit hours)
Technical Certificate in Life Sciences (25-26 credit hours)

Certificate of Proficiency in Agricultural Regulations
With emphasis in Agricultural Logistics and Distribution Management, this program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage the production and distribution of agricultural products from farms to consumers.
Upon completion of the course, students will have the capability to articulate the worldwide interconnectedness of food supply chains and elucidate the significant factors for global demand for food products. In an era where professional supply chain management is critical to the success of the agricultural industry, this program addresses the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector
Certificate of Proficiency in Construction Management
Developed to fulfill a need in the Construction profession, this program will provide completers with a set of essential skills and knowledge to ensure the productivity needed in the workforce. In today’s world, there is a shortage of all levels of employees in the construction industry. A certificate in construction will really enhance a student’s employment potential. This certificate will give the student an opportunity to be gainfully employed in the construction career in an entry level construction technician position. Reading plans and interpreting specifications is the basis of upward mobility in the construction career field.
The certificate will increase the student’s chances for getting internships and a possible income increase income for their beginning salary. This program will cover various aspects of construction pertaining to safety, construction materials and procedures, site planning, design, and professional development for a construction career.
Certificate of Proficiency in Data Science
Certificate of Proficiency in Food Production & Safety
Aimed at equipping individuals with essential knowledge and skills to ensure the safe and hygienic production, handling, and distribution of food products. This program will cover various aspects of food safety, including proper storage, hygiene, quality control, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
