Introduction to the Employee Handbook
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) recognizes the contributions each employee makes is an important factor in the success of this institution. Each employee’s skills, pride, and commitment to work, help ensure the continued progress and strength of the university. This handbook is intended to provide information about university policies and procedures related to employment, employee benefits, and available programs and services available to employees.
Much of the material in the Faculty and Staff Handbook is summarized, excerpted or paraphrased, so the handbook is a guide rather than a complete source of information on employment-related subjects. Whenever possible, the source of the information is cited, and additional details can be found in the Board Policies, UAPB’s Policies and Procedures Manual, University-wide administrative memoranda, state personnel policies, state laws and other documents referred to in the handbook. All policies are subject to changes when they are in conflict with federal, state, and local statutes. Information in this handbook is not intended to establish an employment contract of any kind or duration.
This Faculty and Staff Handbook is accessible in electronic format through the Human Resources website, uapb.edu and may be downloaded, stored or printed as needed. This edition of the Employee Handbook supersedes previous editions.
