It is service-oriented and directed by the values of the University, while dedicated to assisting the faculty and staff in
seeking and administering funds for research and sponsored programs.ORSP facilitates research at UAPB by:
identifying funding sources, assisting in finalizing proposals,
reviewing budget accuracy, negotiating agreements, obtaining and
interpreting guidelines, and promoting compliance of grant applications
and contracts with sponsor and University policies and requirements. The
office ensures financial accountability for external funding and
research support.
Research Compliance
Research compliance committees and policies were established at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff to ensure that scientific research and other programs are conducted in a responsible and ethical manner. The University is committed to operating in compliance with research regulations and guidelines, as set forth by federal and state laws, and funding agencies. It is the responsibility of all researchers to be familiar with University policies covering research compliance. There are four Institutional Committees presently in place, 1) Research Committee, 2) Institutional Review Board/ Human Subjects Committee (IRB), 3) Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and 4) Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).
Annual Research Forum
Established during the fall of 1987, the Annual Research Forum is an outgrowth of the Center from which it originated. It is an intricate part of the results of having research on the UAPB Campus. Paving the way for student development, the forum provides all participating students the opportunity to present the results of their research to the University family and community in a professional and competitive atmosphere. Also, it provides both students and faculty from any discipline taught on campus an occasion to receive the proper recognition for excellence in research.
