Aquaculture and Fisheries 


Specifically, this project combines the use of innovative interactive student response technologies by Ph.D. Teaching Assistants to improve learning outcomes by increasing student engagement in the classroom.

Section - Two

Academic Resources


Title III provides funding for Smartboard Technology Classroom projects designed to impact classroom lectures, student interaction, and participation and to provide state of the art educational experiences that will enhance student learning outcomes and improved methodologies and pedagogy. The resources are used in instructional delivery in all academic disciplines offered in all academic facilities. Students benefit from simulation-based laboratory and technology upgrades, enhanced computer laboratories, and laboratory equipment used for quality student research projects.

Section - Three

Faculty Development


The Center for Teaching, Learning and Advising (CTLA) is designed to promote excellence in teaching at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and provides professional development activities, including workshops, seminars, training sessions, and technical assistance to develop and enhance instructional skills. Its objectives are to increase the number of teachers who demonstrate improved teaching strategies and academic assessment and to increase student retention and graduation rates each year.

Section - Four

Museum and Library Holdings

The University Museum and Cultural Center, established in 2005, is a self-supporting exhibit hall funded solely through grants and private donations. Created for historical reference, this edifice holds photographs, programs, sports memorabilia and legal documentations from Branch Normal College, AM&N College and the University. Visotors have the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the center as well as enjoy a guided tour in small groups of ten or less. Section - Five

Renovation 

The grant provides for construction, maintenance, renovation, and improvement in classroom, library, laboratories, and other instructional facilities, including purchase or rental of telecommunications and technology equipment or services.

Section - Six

Tutoring and Counseling

Faculty and student led tutoring, counseling, and student services programs designed to improve academic success are provided to foster student learning and amplify student academic achievement. Four tutoring sites, including student housing complexes and athletic facilities along with the John Brown Watson Library, and virtual platforms allow for peer and faculty tutoring to promote student success. Student Success Coaches and faculty utilize Aviso, an advisory software program, to aid in coordination of student services to promote student success and retention.
