Master of Arts in Teaching
The MAT program has four options which an individual can work towards obtaining a standard teaching license via the Arkansas Department of Education as follows: Broad Range is for K-12 in Art, Music and Physical Education; Elementary Education is for K-6 grade level licensure; Middle-Level Education is for Grades 4-8 for concentration in Language Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, and Math; and the Secondary Education option is those individuals interested in teaching at the high school level for the subject areas of English, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences, Physical/Chemistry Sciences, and Math.

Master of Education in Secondary Education - M.Ed. in Secondary Education The M.Ed. in Secondary Education is the program for current licensed teachers to earn a graduate degree in their discipline or areas of specialization. Secondary Education areas of specialization are English, Social Sciences, General Science, and Mathematics. MEd General Science Education

Master of Education in Educational Leadership
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership is a new graduate degree program in the School of Education. This program will develop new building and administrative leaders for school districts. A sample brochure and curriculum is provided.

Master Programs in Physical Education
The M.Ed. in Physical Education degree program is for current licensed teachers to earn a graduate degree in their discipline.
The M.S. in Physical Education is referred to as “Sports Programming” and does not require a teacher license to earn the degree. Thus, it is a non-licensure program. Health and Physical Education graduate course descriptions.

Master of Education Vocational Rehabilitation - Addiction Counseling
The Master of Education Vocational Rehabilitation emphasis in Addiction Counseling program is a 60-hour program. The Master of Education Vocational Rehabilitation emphasis in Addiction Counseling program will receive emphasis coursework from faculty in this focus area as well as display to students the intersection of disability and addiction in cases throughout both fields. Master of Education Vocational Rehabilitation emphasis in Addiction Counseling will assist students with their graduate degree training individuals who are dedicated to working with people with disabilities from widely diverse cultures, abilities, and backgrounds, as well as assist counselors in effective, complex strategies and methods of practice assisting persons from diverse backgrounds to obtain their maximum functioning.
