Welcome to the Department of Human Sciences

The Department of Human Sciences’ mission is to provide quality education and scientific knowledge to students (individuals), families and communities through teaching, research and meaningful outreach opportunities, while preparing graduates for careers, graduate studies and leadership roles in a competitive global environment.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Human Sciences is offered with the following concentrations in:
Foodservice/Restaurant Management
Hospitality and Tourism Management
Human Development and Family Studies
Merchandising, Textiles and Design
Nutrition and Food Science

The Department operates the UAPB Child Development Center for ages 18 months to 4 years. The Center is accredited by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. For more information, visit the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership page.

The Department of Human Sciences is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
