Welcome to the Psychology Program at UAPB
We are thrilled to have you join the Psychology Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Our department is rooted in UAPB’s mission of access, excellence, and preparing students to succeed in a diverse and changing world. We are excited to help you grow into the scholar and professional you aspire to become.
As our program continues to evolve, so do the opportunities available to you. Recently, we expanded our curriculum to include courses such as Human Sexuality and Advanced Cognitive Psychology, offering deeper insight into human behavior, thought, emotion, and underlying neuroscience mechanisms. These additions reflect our commitment to providing an education that is current, meaningful, and connected to real-world applications.
One of the most exciting parts of our program is our new Cognitive Control Lab—a hands-on space where students can explore how people think, feel, and make decisions. In this lab, you can move beyond lectures and experience the research process firsthand through behavioral experiments rooted in cognitive psychology. It’s a place where curiosity becomes discovery.
Outside the classroom, students have opportunities—big and small—to get involved. Our Psychology Club remains a space where students gather, share ideas, and support one another. Even small moments of connection can spark big inspiration, and we encourage you to be part of building the club’s next chapter.
Most importantly, know that you belong here. Your professors, advisors, and peers are excited to support you throughout your time at UAPB. We look forward to seeing the paths you explore, the questions you ask, and the accomplishments you achieve.
Warmest welcome from our faculty members—
