Welcome from the Political Science Coordinator
Welcome to the Political Science program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. We are excited about this new year and new opportunities for our students to explore the vast and dynamic world of Political Science.
Political Science explores the political behaviors of people and the power relationships that exist between individuals, groups and institutions, and their relationship to government systems. Some sub fields of political science include American government, political theory, international relations, comparative politics, and public administration. Our Political Science students have the opportunity choose among these, and several other areas of concentration that suit their academic and career interests.
Throughout our program, students learn to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and clear and concise communicators. These skills prepare them for careers in government, research, business, politics, law, and academia, as well as assist in creating a politically active campus environment. We also enjoy activities such as guest speakers, Political Science Club, travel to conferences, and campus events such as an election watch party.
Once again, we welcome you and hope that you will visit our events and explore our program as we continue to grow and produce the next generation of political scientists.
