Welcome to the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences!
Our students tell us that they felt at home the minute they set foot on campus. This is due, in part, because departmental faculty and staff take the time to get to know our students, which helps us guide them along their journey to discover who they’re meant to be. Students are advised by faculty in their program, thus, students get advice from people who teach the courses. Additionally, faculty members provide career advice, advice on internships, and research opportunities. Our department offers a Bachelor of Art degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Art in Social Sciences degree comprising five tracks —Gerontology, History, Political Science, and Sociology and Social Studies Education (Teaching), and offers service courses in Geography and Anthropology. We also offer minor degrees in Criminal Justice, Gerontology, History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology. We are certain that you will find your time with us to be a rewarding experience with memories and relationships that will last you a lifetime. Do not hesitate to ask questions of me or any of our outstanding faculty and staff.
Our department houses degree programs in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Social Sciences which has five options: Gerontology, History, Political Science, Social Studies Education (Teaching), and Sociology. The department also offers service courses in Geography and Anthropology. The department seeks to provide undergraduate instruction that enhances student learning and enriches the lives of our students for life. It provides a firm foundation in liberal arts education as well as training in the techniques and procedures of scientific inquiry. It’s our goal to make sure students are properly prepared for careers in their chosen fields of study and also for graduate and professional schools.
Welcome to the Pride!
