The Department of Chemistry and Physics offers expanded opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and high school students, who are interested in Chemistry, Physics, NanoScience, and Materials’ Science, to engage in cutting-edge research through Paid Research Assistantships! Thanks to generous funding from prestigious agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of Energy (DoE), our faculty are leading innovative research projects that are shaping the future of science.
Currently, as of the Spring 2025 semester, 12 undergraduate and graduate students are actively contributing to these projects, gaining hands-on experience, developing critical skills, and earning competitive pay through grant-funded positions. These research assistantships offer students the chance to work alongside highly skilled faculty, explore groundbreaking topics in chemistry, physics, materials’ science… and build a strong foundation for their academic and professional careers.
We are also thrilled to offer summer research positions for high school students through our funded programs. This initiative provides motivated high schoolers with a unique opportunity to engage in scientific discovery, work in state-of-the-art labs, and jumpstart their STEM journey under the mentorship of our expert faculty.
