Math Scholarships
William Henry and Willie Luie Daniels Scholarship (3 awards @ $1,880)
The recipients must be full-time students who are from culturally and financially underprivileged neighborhoods and/or communities, possess a 3.0 GPA or better, must demonstrate an interest in campus activities, have a history of helping others and exhibit leadership potential by participating in student government and/or fraternal organizations. The scholarship will be used to pay for tuition, textbooks, supplies, and fees. Priority will be given to sophomore or junior students majoring in Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology (Pre-Med) or Chemistry. The recipient shall maintain the scholarship until the completion of their academic program. If the recipient ceases to make reasonable progress toward completion of the academic program or be regularly enrolled full-time at the University, the scholarship will be forfeited.
Shirley M. Williams Scholarship ($1,910)
The recipient of this scholarship must have a minimum of 28 hours majoring in Mathematics, exhibit good citizenship, and demonstrate professional promise and leadership skills. The student must have a 3.0 GPA or better to be considered.
Larry B. Cooper Scholarship ($1,250)
The recipient of this scholarship must be a STEM student who has earned 30 semester hours majoring in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering. The student should exhibit good citizenship and demonstrate professional promise. Only those students with a 3.0 GPA or better will be considered.
Professor Joseph Carter Corbin Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the legacy of Joseph Carter Corbin, founder of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and an influential educator who helped expand educational opportunities in Arkansas. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing degrees in mathematics or science at UAPB. Eligible applicants must be junior or senior classification and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and may be renewed, depending on eligibility and available funding. The university selects recipients based on these criteria and their commitment to academic success in STEM fields.
Computer Science Scholarships
Larry B. Cooper Scholarship ($1,250)

Odail Thorns, Sr. Scholarship (2 awards @ $2,600)
This scholarship is provided perpetually through a gift from Mr. Odail Thorns, Jr., in memory of his late father. The recipient of this scholarship will be a sophomore, junior or senior level student pursuing a degree from the School of Arts and Sciences y majoring in Computer Science/Cybersecurity with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The proceeds will be used for required tuition, fees, textbooks, and supplies.
Dorothy Estheryne McFadden Hoover Scholarship
The Dorothy Estheryne McFadden Hoover Scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or Computer Science in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Established through the generosity of donors Becky and Hank Hartman, the scholarship encourages academic achievement and supports students working toward completing their degree in STEM fields.
Eligible applicants include incoming freshmen with a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 and a Math ACT score of 21 or higher, as well as current UAPB sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.0. The scholarship is awarded as a one-year, non-renewable award, and recipients are selected by UAPB.
Gilmore Usher Scholarship
These scholarships are available to two deserving students who are seeking degrees in Math/Math Education, Computer Science, Pre-Engineering or Industrial Technology or Liberal Arts . Students must have a High School GPA of 3.00 or College GPA of 3.00 or better both cumulative and in the major area. For other details interested students must come by the Computer Science Unit.
Arkansas Academy of Computing
The primary goal of awarding the AAoC is to promote and further develop computing education in Arkansas. This academy has established an annual scholarship program intended to help influence a student’s choice of major and direct more students toward computing education.
