In addition to exploring the Institutional Scholarships offered by UAPB, and various forms of federal aids, work study and grants, the Department of English, Humanities, and Foreign Languages offers scholarships for students in the humanities.
- L. W. & Carutha Johnson Scholarship ($1,540)
(The late L. W. Johnson and his wife, an outstanding educator and alumni, present annually a tuition scholarship in honor of their daughter, Dr. Lois J. Faucette. This scholarship is awarded to an English major exhibiting excellence.
- O. E. Jackson Award ($2,140)
The daughter of Mr. O. E. Jackson annually present, in honor of their father, a cash award to a conscientious and reliable honor student who has a keen interest in Foreign Languages.
- Elmer & Jo Ann Miller Bell Scholarship ($1,250)
This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student in English (even year) and Art (odd year) who has completed 30 semester hours of study and has a GPA of 3.00 or above. The student must show interest in the department and campus activities and exhibit leadership potential.
- Dr. Edward & Mrs. Edythe E Mays Scholarship ($2,140)
Given in memory by Dr. Edward Mays, friends and family, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a student with abiding interest and demonstrates excellence in Theater Arts, must have a 2.75 GPA and have good moral character.
