Scholarships & Aid

Below is a list of general, institutional, and STEM scholarships available to our students. Please visit the financial aid page on our site for more information about paying for your degree.

General Scholarship Information

As you search for scholarships, please remember that there are many scholarship resources available.  Be sure to check throughout your community for assistance as well.  In fact, there are many organizations that give financial aid to students in need.  A few of these would be places such as local banks, local charities, etc.  One invaluable tool over the internet is FastWeb.com.  This is a free, easy to use scholarship search engine.  It is highly recommended among schools around the U.S.  Also, please be aware that there are always people attempting to scam prospective students and their families.  Stay away from any scholarship program which requests payment for application, etc.  These “programs” almost never produce any real results.

Institutional Scholarships

The Academic Scholarship Program at UAPB is designed to recognize and reward students who have exemplified academic excellence. Institutional Scholarships are based on availability of funds and academic performance. Scholarships awarded by the Office of Recruitment are for first-time entering students to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff who have not completed a bachelor’s degree program.  Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Incoming freshmen may be offered a scholarship based on their 6-semester transcript; however, final/official transcripts are required for award and may change the award level. Transfer students, please see transfer scholarships for additional information.  To be considered for a scholarship award, you must have applied for admissions and submitted your transcript and test score(s) to the office of admissions at UAPB.  Scholarship awards are based upon cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and composite ACT/SAT scores. Please fill out the form to apply for academic scholarships. If you have any questions, call the Office of Recruitment at (870) 575-8960.   Please submit one application per student.  If your score(s) or GPA changes, email recruitment@uapb.edu with your updated information.

STEM-related Scholarships

Our Biology Department is proud to offer STEM scholarship opportunities as part of a “S-STEM” scholarship program at UAPB through a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant of 1 million dollars to support low-income, academically talented students in STEM fields. The program provides financial and academic support through these scholarships.
