Dr. Machell Dailey

Dr. Machell Dailey is an Assistant Professor and Interim Chairperson of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Her work focuses on preparing highly effective educators through innovative teacher preparation programs, mentorship, and data-driven instructional practices. Dr. Dailey’s professional interests include teacher development, assessment and evaluation, classroom engagement, and  holistic teacher support.

Dr. Dailey also serves as the Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program, where she oversees program design, clinical experiences, and candidate support throughout the one-year residency model required for teacher licensure in Arkansas. She has led several program improvement initiatives focused on strengthening candidate readiness, improving Praxis success rates, and aligning coursework with state and national standards.

As an educator, Dr. Dailey teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in teacher preparation, including assessment of classroom learning, classroom management, and clinical internship supervision. Her work emphasizes reflective practice, responsive teaching, and the development of strong relationships between teachers and students.

Dr. Dailey has over two decades of experience in education and is committed to empowering future educators. Her philosophy reflects a deep belief that effective teachers change lives by building sustainable relationships.
