Experience

Supportive Staff

Students majoring in physical education or recreation are assigned an advisor who will monitor their progress, assist in the selection of courses, offer solutions to possible problems, and make referrals when the need arises. Students are expected to consult their advisors on a regular basis or whenever they deem it necessary.

Nationally Accredited Program

We provide nationally accredited degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students must hold a Secondary Certification in Physical Education or hold/be eligible to hold the standard six-year certification or the coaching certification requirements established by the Arkansas Department of Education.

Minor Opportunities

The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation offers minor degree options to complement majors from other programs across our campus.

Our Programs

Health, Physical Education and Recreation Club (HPER)

The HPER Club promotes student involvement in learning strategies and techniques to prepare for careers in this growing field. We also host campus fairs that promote healthy campus-living, and get students involved in the importance of health in the quality of campus life.
