Scholarships

The Academic Scholarship Program at UAPB is designed to recognize and reward students who have exemplified academic excellence. Institutional Scholarships are based on availability of funds and academic performance. Scholarships awarded by the Office of Recruitment are for first-time entering students to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff who have not completed a bachelor’s degree program.  Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Incoming freshmen may be offered a scholarship based on their 6-semester transcript; however, final/official transcripts are required for award and may change the award level. Transfer students, please see transfer scholarships for additional information.  To be considered for a scholarship award, you must have applied for admissions and submitted your transcript and test score(s) to the office of admissions at UAPB.  Scholarship awards are based upon cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) and composite ACT/SAT scores. Please fill out the form to apply for academic scholarships. If you have any questions, call the Office of Recruitment at (870) 575-8960.   Please submit one application per student.  If your score(s) or GPA changes, email recruitment@uapb.edu with your updated information.

More Scholarship Information

As you search for scholarships, please remember that there are many scholarship resources available.  Be sure to check throughout your community for assistance as well.  In fact, there are many organizations that give financial aid to students in need.  A few of these would be places such as local banks, local charities, etc.  One invaluable tool over the internet is FastWeb.com.  This is a free, easy to use scholarship search engine.  It is highly recommended among schools around the U.S.  Also, please be aware that there are always people attempting to scam prospective students and their families.  Stay away from any scholarship program which requests payment for application, etc.  These “programs” almost never produce any real results.

Financial Aid at UAPB

Financial Aid is an important method of paying for college for every student.  Below you will find information on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s website.  This information is important and all undergraduate students thinking about applying or college bound students and their families are encouraged to read all information in the links below.

Federal Pell Grant  (Application for Federal Student Aid or the FAFSA)

The Federal Pell Grant is funded by the federal government and administered by the U.S. Department of Education. Students who demonstrate significant financial need according to the federal formulas can qualify for yearly Pell Grant awards of up to $6,895.

To apply for the Pell Grant, students must fill out the Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  By filling out the FAFSA, you are also applying for the Pell Grant as well as any other federal financial aids available.

All students who complete the FAFSA will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that will note their eligibility for Pell Grant funds as well as any documents they must submit to the Financial Aid Office to confirm their eligibility for federal funds. The FAFSA website has complete instructions on completing the multi-page FAFSA form, printable worksheets and lists of the information required, as well as the online FAFSA form itself.
