The mission of the School of Education Graduate Programs is to offer advanced programs in professional education that lead to improved classroom instruction and prepares responsible, productive citizens, and prospective change agents in the field of education with the knowledge, skills and disposition that will enable them to meet the educational challenges of an ever-changing educational field. The major function of the School of Education Graduate Programs is the advanced preparation of teachers for the improvement of classroom instruction in preschool through high school.
The four areas of preparation include the following:
- Master of Education in Elementary Education
- Master of Education in Secondary Education (Four Specialties)
- Master of Arts in Teaching (Four Specialties)
- Master of Education in Secondary Education Physical Education
- Master of Education Leadership
Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling
The Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is dedicated to preparing students to provide exceptional counseling and rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities. The program emphasizes a systematic approach to assist clients in achieving personal, career, and independent living goals through tailored interventions. Students gain expertise in assessing needs, coordinating services, and fostering successful outcomes, all while promoting inclusivity and empowerment. With a strong foundation in counseling processes and disability studies, graduates are equipped to make a meaningful impact in diverse settings.
Educational Leadership
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is designed to cultivate visionary school leaders equipped to drive success in P-12 educational settings. Grounded in national and state standards, the program emphasizes collaboration, equity, data-driven decision-making, and effective school management. Through a cohort-based model, candidates progress through four structured phases, combining rigorous coursework with field experiences and internships under the guidance of experienced administrators. This program prepares graduates to lead and manage at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, fostering a commitment to excellence and student achievement.
The School of Education Graduate Programs is one of the three graduate programs in the Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.
