USDA/1890 Scholars Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture/1890 Liaison counsels students on employment opportunities in USDA agencies and oversees the USDA/1890 Scholars’ application process. The USDA/1890 Scholars Program is open to entering sophomores or juniors exhibiting leadership and community service and junior college or second-year college students transferring to a four-year institution. Students selected as Scholars receive tuition, room and board, fees and books.

UAPB-SAFHS 1890 Scholarships Program
The 1890 Scholarships Program offers scholarships to U.S. citizens who are seeking a bachelor’s degree at UAPB in one of the degree areas in the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences (SAFHS). Scholarships awarded are for first-time entering freshman students to UAPB who have not completed a bachelor’s degree program. Additional scholarship funding is for students transferring from a junior college with an associate degree. Incoming freshmen and transfer students may be offered a scholarship based upon their cumulative grade point average.
