We are the largest unit within the School of Business and Management. This department offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with concentration in one of the following areas: 1) Business Technology, 2) Management, 3) Finance, 4) Marketing, 5) Economics, 6) International Business, and 7) Entrepreneurship. The graduates in this department are subject to the general university requirements applicable to all students pursuing a degree at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. All graduates must have a minimum cumulative 2.00 GPA. For the degree, students must complete the outlined program of study, pass the English Proficiency Exam, and meet all other instructional requirements and the departmental requirements of majors in the Department of Business Administration.

Business Technology
The teacher is among the most important professions in the world today.
There is a critical need for individual with compassion and a love
for service to humanity. There is a critical need for more teachers in
business to provide the leadership with compassion to assist in the
guidance and training of those youth enrolled in high schools across
the country inspiring to pursue careers in a wide range of business
oriented professions. Graduates with degrees in Business Education have
acquired the expertise needed to become competent teachers of
commercial classes at the secondary level all across the country. There
is a critical need for more individual who enjoy working with youth to
pursue careers in teaching. The Business Education curriculum includes
all courses required to meet the requirements for certification for
teachers in Arkansas. Someone has stated that "A mind is a terrible
thing to waste." Become a teacher!
Finance covers all aspects of acquisition, administration, and management of money. This will prepare students for careers in banking investments, financial analysis, stock brokerage, and insurance.
Management trains the student in areas ranging from the aspects of managing people to the techniques used in managing resources. Management graduates obtain positions in personnel management, operations research, inventory control and logistics.
Marketing provides the student with an understanding of marketing strategies that organizations use to sell their products. The marketing concentration prepares graduates for careers in sales, advertising, marketing research, wholesaling and retailing.
Economics equips the student with an understanding of the aspects of supply and demand of resources. Economics graduates pursue careers in the government, financial institutions, stock market, and research organizations.
International Business equips students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of global markets, enabling them to excel in careers that involve international trade, cross-cultural communication, and global business strategy.
Entrepreneurship empowers students to cultivate their innovative ideas, develop entrepreneurial skills, and become adept at starting and managing their own ventures or contributing to entrepreneurial endeavors within established organizations.
